Interesting comment I read in the Voice this week: to sum up, it said that we (meaning the general public) might not have been as outraged by the torture had it come to light in a different war and under a different administration. This isn't to say that we'd be happy about it, but that it might have been taken as more of an unfortunate consequence of war had this administration not been so incredibly dishonest and nauseatingly self-righteous about the whole thing.
