Yeah, I saw that one. Of course, it's one thing to do it in a nice gymnasium. It's another to do it on a battlefield while running over the heads of adversaries slashing at you with swords!
At least while the opponents are at fairly long range (which is after all the main point of using a bow), I'm not certain the difference would be that great. Once they begin to close, or if someone is shooting arrows back at you, I'd expect a whole lot more ducking and hiding than firing back.
Legolas was mentioned, and his thing was using arrows with the targets ranging from hundreds of yards down to point-blank, while in the middle of melee. :)
