South Bay medical resources question

Laid up as I am temporarily, with two days to go until the move, it occurs to me to wonder about medical services in the South bay. I'll still be under insurance, so I can afford to ask-

That is, does anyone have a GP that they would recommend to me for when I come up? How about an optometrist? I'll need new glasses soon. And a dentist- just in case.

Sing out people- does anyone have medical people they'd care to share?

Laid up? What happened?

I don't get to the doctor much, so I can't help you there. I can recomend an optomitrist and I can recommend against an optomistrist. Unfortunately, they are both in the same office so that could get tricky.

BTW, what time do you expect to get up here on Thursday? I'm betting you're probably going to spend as long in SB as possible, but if you are up here before dinner time, do you want to do dinner?

I don't know if I mentioned this or not, but I grew up in Palo Alto, not far from where you will be staying, in fact. So if you have any questions about where to find anything, give a call. Jeanne also grew up in the area (not that house, though), so she's a good resource also.

Just some minor surgery I wanted to get done before I left- I'm OK, really. And definitely tell me about the optometrist- I was planning to get new glasses before my move, but I was informed by my eye doctor that he was no longer taking HMO insurance. Bummer.

Also, I'm actually coming up Wednesday the 8th. I should be up there around 7-8ish, but I may be preoccupied with moving in. I'll definitely be free on the 9th though.

And finally, you will probably get a couple plaintive "Sandpanther? I'm lost." calls before I find my way around. Thanks for the offer.
