Tor and FREE STUFF (sort of a review)
I've been poking around the revamped Tor Books website, which is really a very nice website to play around in. It's got news, articles and a very active forum, with people like John Scalzi, Peter Stross, and Jo Walton posting. More than just a bookseller site, it's rapidly turning into an excellent general SF and Fantasy website, and is a model for what publishers should be doing on the web.
And oh yeah, FREE STUFF!And
Check out this freebies page, where a promotional giveaway has been extended to the 27th. It has free PDFs of Tor novels such as Scalzi's "Old Man's War", and a huge collection of wallpapers of cover art from novles. This isn't cheap stuff: it has works by Vallejo, Bell, Kaluta...in all honesty, I'd be inclined to download all of the artwork.
Conclusion: get it while it lasts. And check out the rest of the website, it seems like a nice place.
