Canon vs. Fanon: an example so accurate it's scary.

Courtesy of Zorm over at Deviantart, we have a look at a figure from a popular fantasy series...used to illustrate the differences in characters as the creator conceive them, and how the fanfikkers see them.   Something is lost in translation, evidently.

It's really a case of "a picture is worth a thousand fanfics".
