Tiny Furry Engines of Destruction, and Other Stuff
Well, it's been a week since I returned from house and schipperkes sitting. I am now fully recovered from two weeks of dealing with TWIN WHIRLING BLACK FURRY DERVISHES OF DOOM! It was a fun vacation. Except for the part where I had to drive San Marcos Pass behind SUV drivers who thought that their cars would magically bounce off the lines in the middle of the road. And the part where I had to do it again, this time in the rain at 1 AM.
So now I'm onto my next project. Looking at the calendar, I realized with a start that I'm almost due for my midlife crises, and I haven't done ANY proper preparation for it. And I was a bit stuck as to what I can do. I can't afford a new sports car, I don't need hair implants, I'm not about to have an affair. So, I'm a bit at a loss.
Fortunately, MegaTokyo, Jet Grind Radio, and other contemporary sources have come to my aide, and shown me that obviously the proper way to deal with my scheduled crisis is to reconnect with youth- any youth. I must prove that I am still hip and with it. To that end, I have taken drastic steps- I am taking orrespondance courses in how to talk like the young- I am learning L337SP34K and hip-hopese. It's going well:
"F-Phear my uhh...L33T employment verification skills- err sorry, skillz." "Check my umm, bad uhh, ass err self..out."
This should work well- I will prove I'm still young- not really old. I should be ready for the really loose pants any time now.
