Like an awful vampire slashfic...in real life.
I've always wondered how a gay man could justify being a member of the Republican party these days, but no more. Now I know.
By being very, very stupid.
According to the reply here, Sullivan has been recruiting men for "barebacking" sessions. I suppose that's what really makes me angry- not his cavalier attitude toward his disease, but the fact that he is trying to get people to join him in being HIV positive, by portraying it as hip. Like a willing and knowledgeable Typhoid Mary.
The whole barebacking concept reminds me too much of some awful yaoi vampire fanfic. I can see the seducer smiling lovingly after unprotected sex and saying "now you're one of us." Gotta wonder how many people are going to catch AIDS because of this guys boosterism.
