Looks like someone has decided to pad out their resume by reformatting LiveJournal to a more "modern" social media style.

Obviously functionality was not high on the development list.

Luckily, you can still have the old styles on your Friends feed. I just read that, not the LJ main page, so I basically only see the awful, new look when LJ screws up and drops my login cookie.
