Cat Touchdown!

Its been a long day. We left Mom's by 11:00, jetted down to L.A., picked up two beautiful kitties, and then took the I-5 back up to San Jose. RXM hought it would take 8 hours, I thought tii would take 6; the trip compromised by making it seven hours of driving. I'm jealous that RxM got to spend more time of the trip in the back seat, holding and petting the kitties.

At this point, the travel carrier is sitting in our bedroom, with the door wide open. The kitties are sitting in there, staring at my typing with wide-open eyes. Occasionally one of the bells on their collars jingles as they shift position, but so far they've done no more then poke their head out a bit. I suspect that as soon as I turn the ligh out, they'll start prowling.

They really are wonderful kittens.

Update: Kittens started poking around the room once Eric left to wash up before going to bed. They hid under the bed all night, but they found the litterbox, food, and water OK, once we went to sleep.

This morning, we turned on the heater a bit to warm the room up. They aren't coming out from under the bed, but that's OK for now.

When we brought Cleo home, she was a bit of a spookapuss, but I was able to lure her out with a toy— a circular track with a ball in it, where a cat can reach in and hook the ball with a paw. I’d roll it toward her, she’d bap it back to me, and before long she thought I was OK.
