Full Coverage

It was something I heard on the radio, on this town's sad excuse for a poprock college radio station. I didn't catch the name of the band(I later found out it was Ryan Adams), but it was a cover of Wonderwall, by Oasis. A slow, acoustic, pretentious cover. I listened to a bit, trying to put my finger on what was bothering me- and suddenly it hit me:
"My god! They're doing in the style of Led Zeppelin!"
Sandy started "You're right! They are!" Thoughtful pause..."Except they aren't doing it with that 'HaaAAAAAAaaaahAHH!' shit that Robert Plant does."
"Well, they're doing it in the style of Zeppelin's acoustic stuff-- you know, like the Battle of... uhh."
"The Battle of Evermore. Yeah. That's right."
"And the other acoustic stuff they've done." Thoughtful pause. "No wonder my nails are gouging tracks in the steering wheel."

And there you have it. Two vile tastes that go even more wretchedly together. And that's the review. I'm done, because in lieu of going out and doing violence unto the anonymous generically moody alternative band (AKA Ryan Adams), or the hapless DJ of the college rock station, I am going to wash my ears out. With lye. Maybe that will end the pain.
