Heard this news just this morning: Terry Pratchett has been diagnosed with a rare form of early onset Alzheimer's. 

Having had relatives and friends of the family deal with Alzheimer's, my sympathies go out to Mr. Pratchett and to his family. I've long been a fan of his work, and so this is really sad news to me.

His announcement is purely his style. I'm sad for him, but smiling at his panache... I thought the rule with Alzheimer's was "use it or lose it"? How can a man as prolific as Asimov be accused of not using his brain enough? Must be the exception to the rule.
