Just a few days ago, I was doing a bit of nostalgic whinging to [personal profile] racerxmachina
about how the kittens are old to still play the "bedmouse game". That game involving attacking the things moving under the covers at the foot of the bed.

Well, for the last two nights, I've found out the kittens will still play the bedmouse game, under two conditions:

1.   It is some time around 3AM in the morning

2.  I've kicked off enough blankets that their sharp little teeth can go right through the
thin coverlet.  Right into my toes.

Cleo has object persistence and knows that it’s a human under the blanket. Yeti doesn’t, and I am careful to tuck the blankets around my toes so he doesn’t attack when they dangle off the end of the bed.

Ah, yes, it was not a week since you were singing fuckin' "Sunrise, Sunset, why must the kitties grow up", and now that they have obviously HEARD YOU and given their papa a reminder that they are still Daddy's little girls, you COMPLAIN ABOUT IT. Never happy, are you? Always holding our girls to unrealistic expectations and changing standards! Bad parenting!

is it too much to expect my kitties to perfectly respond to my every whim, no matter how changable? I didn't think so!

Heh. This sounds like a case of "be careful what you wish for"!

Well, it was kind of different when they were wee small kittens that didn't have daggerlike teeth that will go through comforters like needles through, umm, something that needles go through.

Maybe I should get a kevlar comforter?
