This discussion also eventually ended giving me the term of the day as well:

"mecha meganekko-neko miko mahou shoujo"

AFAICT, 'mecha meganekko-neko miko mahou shoujo' roughtly translates out to "Android glasses-wearing magical catgirl temple guardian". Just to get as many otaku fantasies as possible in at one go.
