Under the Green Moon at Pacificon.

Well, I'm making a commitment to running a game.  I'm applying fr a game slot at Pacificon for a game set in the Under the Green Moon world at Pacificon.  I'm right now looking at a Sunday Afternoon slot, before the LARPS start.  On the one hand I have my personal demon saying that I can't possibly do this welll at this stage n development, but on the other, I know I just really need a deadline to buckle down and work.

What rule system will you be using?

For this obe game, True20, with characters provided, and cheat sheets for abilities and powers.

This is something I debated over for quite a while, since True20 was not my initial choice, and I've considered a number of systems, such as Heroquest, PDQ, FATE, even GURPS. None of the systems quite did what I wanted, though of them all, Heroquest came closest. The bottom line though, is the convention is close, and I won't have the opportunity to buy more game materials, such as Heroquest II. Therefore I decided to go with a fairly simple "good enough" system that I have all the materials for. Hence True20.

In the future though, I'll probably go with something else, such as Heroquest. Or Fate, or maybe a custom system.

I can see True20 working for this, but I agree that it isn't ideal. As for later versions, have you considered Unisystem (either cinematic or standard)? I find it to be both exceptionally versatile and also exceedingly non-problematic.
