My comment:
He'd be underpaid and work really crappy hours. He wouldn't drink as much, but he would be doing various designer drugs. He wouldn't be seeing as many prostitutes, but he would hang around disreputable coffee shops and sleazy clubs a lot. He would be on heavy medication for depression, and he would be seeing a therapist weekly. He'd dream of becoming a great artist...and then he would get up and go to work on Saturday.
