So, math problem, and a moving update
Sep. 20th, 2006 11:45 pmA math question.
If it takes me 20 minutes to move 11 boxes (and a hoop skirt) from the car to the 2nd. floor storage using a dolly, and it takes me 10 minutes to move seven boxes the same distance using a rolling platform, how long will it take to load and unload the U-haul when it comes time to do so on Saturday?
Beats me. I'm just happy that I'll be able to get the U-haul at a reasonable hour like 9:00am, instead of waiting until 10:45 like the guy said we would have to do. The process involved making a phone call to an alternate U-haul place, getting a quote of nearly $300.00, checking the U-haul website, and asking for the stated price. And then later there was a call from the first U-haul guy, who suddenly agreed to be open at 9:00, and then went into negotiations with the other firm to take over the contract. What-EVER, thinks I, as long as I have that damned truck Saturday morning when I want it.
So, schedule update:
Friday (9/22) Evening: go down to Santa Barbara.
Saturday, (9/23)
Sunday, (9/24)
I can't believe things are coming down so close to the wire. This whole affair has more of an air of unreality, the closer it comes to becoming reality.
In any case, many thanks in advance to anyone who shows up Sunday at:
lock away Storage
220 W. Ahwanee Avenue
Sunnyvale, CA
(It's on the same street as Hobie's, FWIW).
Map and directions here.
We should probably designate a contact up here for Sunday, as well, in case we run into problems.. Anyone want to volunteer?
(EDIT: Dates corrected)
