It IS summer, after all.

This afternoon consisted of lazing around recovering from a therapeutic massage, reading and playing with kitties. This evening consisted of excellent sushi, little sponge cakes dipped n tea, good companionship, and lots of anime. We watched several episodes of Rosen Maiden (from which I got the idea of sponge cake), and then the fist disk of Gankutsuo, which is a truly spectacularly animated retelling of the count of Monte Cristo. And then there was the little bottle of Kizakura unfiltered sake we shared. Far better than any restaurant sake I've tried, it was sweet, mild, and silky. It's a pleasant surprise to have a sake actually tasting like a gourmet alcohol.

The only downside of this weekend is contemplating future expenditures: collecting the entire series of Rosen Maiden, and Gankutsuo; more sushi; and much more sake. Sounds like aI've got a plan for the rest of the summer.
