This just in: Arthur C. Clarke has died.

According to the AP, he died early this morning, at his home in Sri Lanka.  He was 90.

Thus passes one of the true giants of science fiction, someone who not only helped define the genre, but actually had a decent track record in predicting the future.

He will be missed- the Earth is poorer for his departure.
