Garden thoughts.
Mar. 24th, 2009 02:51 pmSunday we spent some time in our porch garden, even though as soon as we opened the door the wind came up and the wind-chill factor dropped temperatures enormously. But we persevered...well, mostly
racerxmachina persevered, and I merely helped between dashing inside to get warm. But we did get things cleaned out, pulled out some old, sour mint, divided some chives, put icky smelly stuff in some pots, and then started thinking about what we want to do for our garden this year.
Here's some of our ideas:
I was going to do an LJ poll for what else to plant, but you know, that should be enough. Especially since RxM is going to want to put in flowers as well. And it was refreshing to get out in the sunlight and fresh air for a bit.

Here's some of our ideas:
- Mint of course- even the good mint looks past its peak, so more mint for the summer's mint julips and mohitos.
- Lettuce: up on a porch where its safe from snails, we can do a couple long boxes of them.
- Tomatoes: we can never have too many fresh tomatoes- hopefully we'll get an even bigger crop this year.
- Beans: we're thinking of either stringing them up to the top of the porch, or putting them in hanging baskets.
- Basil. Because you can never have enough fresh basil.
- Oregeno: our pasta dishes will be excellent this year.
