I tried a new morning workout, which I think has some potential.

I call it the "Emergency Wipe and Wring". here's how it works:

  • Pop back home before work to check on the kitties.
  • See that the dishwasher left the sink brim-full of water and there's a half-inch of water covering the kitchen floor.
  • Swear, long and loudly.  Deep breaths, get that blood pumping!
  • Grab a towel, and a bucket.  Step up!
  • Bend over, swish towel around water.  Stretch it!
  • Straighten up, wring towel into bucket. Push!
  • repeat thirty times, until kitchen floor is merely damp.  Work it!

For an extra digit- exercise, call the management and see how fast they can get a plumber over.

Courtesy of [personal profile] rfmcdpei and the comedienne Kristin Chenoweth comes a little musical intervention involving birds, rainbows, stars, and well...Tina.  Personally, I'm just thrilled that sweet, cute whimsical musical numbers seem to be coming back.

For some odd reason, "It's Time to Stop Doing Tina" is considered NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

Recently released, some very interesting footage of the "Big Dog" robot undergoing its latest free and tethered mobility tests.

What's interesting to me is the times when it appears the most lifelike: when it's losing it's balance, skidding, or nearly falling. It's both fascinating and a little creepy, like it's approaching the Uncanny Valley from an entirely different area.

It's still a test bed of course; it will be interesting to see how and when this is applied in an actual vehicle; I'mthinking it's far more likely it will be used as a small vehicle- the equivalent of an off-road cycle- than it will as a military device.

And as an added special bonus...Transformer!
